Good, inexpensive fishing reel

I was pleased with the performance of this reel. I recently spent a week on KY lake and I used this as one of my reels. Smooth casting and reeling. The design is both ascetically pleasing and functional. I had no problem landing fish.
I was given this reel to try and review and it will definitely be one I take with me whenever and wherever I fish.

Good Value, fast retrieval

I ended up with the 4000 model even though I only really wanted the 3000, but kept it anyways. I am somewhat skeptical when it comes to reels under $30, but I have a few that I use as beater reels on some travel or trunk of the car rods. This reel is a really good value, and performs better than most reels in its price range. It is smooth but has a harder start, but that is probably due to the fact that the line retrieval is fast and works well. I paired it with a 5'8 jig rod I had and it worked well. I had no issues with it whatsoever and the spool grip for braided line is extra wide which I appreciate. I would say that on a 4000 it may work better for spinner or crank baits, but it did its job well. I disassembled it after use as well, there is not any oil or grease on it (at least the one that came to me) So I will take it out again after slightly lubricating it and see that improves the performance any.
I would highly recommend this reel as a tough and well performing budget reel. The bang for your buck is totally worth it.

Great balance

First thing I noticed when stringing the reel was a rubber middle area that would hold the line. It made it easy to reel the new line without it sliding. I was a bit concerned about the weight but it is nicely balanced when casting. Definitely heavy duty reel and will last, it was very smooth when reeling in and probably one of the best I've bought. All in all a solid piece of equipment and cannot wait to try it out at the lake.

Good for the money

So far so good. For a cheap reel.. this thing is pretty darn nice. I’ve only had it a month or so but so far this thing held up nice for fresh water fishing. Smooth!
